If you don’t know your purpose you will never be fulfilled, so make it a mission to discover your purpose.”
Hazel is a “Purpose Guru” who is passionate about empowering Business leaders. As a Business coach and Empowerment Advocate she runs three coaching programs the
Personal Development Program,
Leadership Development Program and
Business Development Program
Her mission is to empower entrepreneurs to discover their life’s purpose and reason for existence in order to fulfill their God-given mandate in Business. Who are you? Where do you come from? And what is your reason for existence. These are questions that need to be answered before you can start a business. As entrepreneurs God has bestowed on everyone a gift, which must be used to their full potential in order to enjoy abundance in life and in business. Until someone discovers their purpose they will never be fulfilled, she believes that when people are equipped to discover, harness and nurture their God-given gifts and talents this significantly boosts their self-esteem, productivity and they gain a clearer vision for their reason for existence. The discovery of your purpose is done through her “Personal Development Program” which also helps entrepreneurs and start-ups to overcome common challenges to starting a business such as fear of failure and fear of the unknown.
Important key tips on purpose:
- Purpose is the key to life and when you discover your purpose you unlock the key for your life.
- Without purpose our lives have no meaning and we live meaningless lives.
- Purpose is the key to fulfillment
- We were all born with a purpose and the world needs your purpose
Where did it all begin?
If you don’t know your purpose you will never be fulfilled, so make it a mission to discover your purpose.
Hazel tells a personal story about how she discovered her purpose and started her first business. Her entrepreneurial journey began when she was employed at the bank as a Money Market Dealer. She was earning a fantastic salary, driving an expensive car with all the perks you could dream of. But she dreaded going to work and she lacked the passion to fulfill her daily duties. She was frustrated and realized month after month that all she was living for was to go to work, make money and pay bills. She knew there had to be more to life than working, getting paid and paying bills. After praying and seeking God for direction she discovered her purpose and realized her passion was to start her own business. She left her job and started working towards her first business. Within two years she had four businesses a Christian Bookshop, two clothing Stores and a Restaurant and she also started her two Charities. She says she has never been more fulfilled and the rest is history. Her advice is if you don’t know your purpose you will never be fulfilled, so make it a mission to discover your purpose, because we were not created just to go to work, make money and pay bills or start any ad hoc business. Every business we create must contribute to humanity and improve people’s lives.
Hazel also runs Leadership Programs which are designed to cultivate, equip and develop leaders. She believes everyone is born a leader but they just don’t know how to become one. The goal of every human should be to become a leader, she has developed a step by step process through which entrepreneurs are equipped to become the leaders they were born to be.

3 Success Tips for Star-Ups
To be authentic is to stay true to who you are, and not be false or copied to the customers we serve. Never try to become like someone else, authentic businesses inspire and prosper. People are no longer content with just a product or a service, they are looking for an experience that is authentic and honest and as entrepreneurs and business owners we must give people what they want. The secret is to build a purpose for your business that goes beyond trying to make money by implementing biblical principles in your vision, mission, goals and core values.
When you are authentic the following will happen
- You differentiate yourself from your competition
- You become influential in the market place
- People understand and relate to your business.
- Your business is seen as trustworthy and reliable
- It will encourage customers to engage and turn into advocates for your company.
In our personal lives many individuals are battling with identity crisis and have tried to create a public image for themselves by imitating celebrities, preacher’s and sports stars. Many have even undergone expensive and dangerous plastic surgeries just to look like their favorite stars. This is as a result of low self-esteem and personality crisis. Self-confidence and satisfaction in life depend on much more than looking good. True happiness comes from discovering and fulfilling your life’s purpose. So in essence it’s ok to learn from others but we must not be tempted to become them, because you cannot fulfill your purpose being someone else. We are all unique and were created to meet specific requirements for a specific target market. So we should never despise our cultural backgrounds, the color of our skin and even our body structures.
Everybody has a story so find a way to monetize your story and think out of the box.
As Christians the purpose of our businesses should not be only about making money, we must ensure that we are creating value for our customer’s and maintaining integrity at all times. Our products must be of high quality and our customers must trust that we have their best interest at heart at all times in order to have repeat customers. If a product is of low quality don’t over charge a product. Customers are relying on you to be trustworthy and reliable when purchasing your products. Provide fair and reasonable pricing for your goods and services for the enrichment of society.
The bible in admonishes us in Phillipians 2v4
“Do not look into your own interest but into the interest of others”.
In other words we must be conscious of other people’s feelings and have understanding and sympathy towards others even when we do business.
We must glorify God and Jesus in our businesses by maintaining high standards by delivering quality products and service to our customers at all times.
Continue To Develop Your Skills
As entrepreneurs it is important to continue developing our personal skills. We need to be constantly increasing our wisdom, knowledge and understanding of our business and the word of God. If you need education, certifications, licensing, affiliations and/or associations, mentorship and life coaching go and research your avenues and set goals to achieve them. Set weekly, yearly and monthly goals and make sure you maintain them.
Finally, remember to trust and put God first in all that you do and all things will work together for your good.MT
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
